Bowers & Wilkins PX Over-Ear Headphones With Active Noise Cancelling

These wireless Bluetooth® headphones featuring a chic, modern design combine a rich audio experience with sophisticated technology, the fruit of 50 years of product development. The PX model is compatible with all popular Bluetooth® devices (tablets, mobiles and computers). The control and app functions have been developed for both iOS and Android devices. Adaptive noise cancelling gives you pure, unadulterated sound, eliminating bothersome outside noise.

The Bowers & Wilkins PX drive units are derived from the company’s reference quality P9 Signature headphones and feature the same angled design for a more convincing soundstage. Its smart suspension system allows PX to produce the precision required for great high frequencies up to 30kHz, as well as the compliance needed for deep and dynamic bass. Measuring 40mm for each full range driver, the innovative placement of the transducers results in a more natural listening experience and vastly improved stereo performance.

Unadulterated sound quality, delivered wirelessly. The active noise cancelling function has been refined to provide optimum isolation without ‘crushing’ the music – a process that took thousands of hours of development and testing. The headphones also use the latest aptX HD Bluetooth technology supporting up to 48kHz 24-bit resolution, and offer full digital audio through a USB connection. Further enhancement of the audio experience is achieved via upsampling and processing the audio at 768kHz, preserving the best possible audio quality.

As well as delivering best-in-class sound quality, the Bowers & Wilkins PX responds intelligently to the wearer’s behaviour, for a seamlessly intuitive listening experience. So apart from its unrivalled performance, perhaps the most remarkable aspect of PX is the User Experience.

PX is Bowers & Wilkins’ first smart headphone, with built-in sensors that allow listeners to control music in a way that feels completely intuitive. PX works by responding intelligently to natural user behaviour. Pick them up and the headphones will switch on immediately and automatically resume playing your music. Put them down and they return to stand-by mode. Lift an ear cup to talk, or hang them around your neck, and PX will pause the music, resuming playback when you’re ready to listen. The class-leading battery provides 22 hours of playback in wireless noise cancellation mode, or 33 hours in wired noise cancellation mode.

To provide an optimum listening experience in different environments, PX has three adaptive noise cancelling modes, which users select with a custom app. ‘City’ allows through traffic noise so you can cross roads safely. ‘Office’ allows through voices so you can hear colleagues when they talk to you. ‘Flight’ massively supresses ambient engine noise. The app also allows firmware updates.

The Bowers & Wilkins PX is future proofed, allowing new firmware and enhanced performance features to be added as they become available via the custom-built app.
