Frame Adapt HDR Generation 2
The Frame Adapt HDR technology, which uses a proprietary algorithm to instantaneously analyse the maximum brightness of HDR10 content per frame and adjust the dynamic range in real time to the optimum range for video projection on projectors, has evolved into the second generation. As the culmination of the HDR image processing technology that we have cultivated up to now, we have completely reexamined the tone mapping algorithm in accordance with the scene and frame, and have achieved HDR images with higher definition and full of three-dimensional feeling by suppressing the whiteness especially in the high brightness area.
USB Back-up
USB backup function that can save and write all settings at once.
This function saves the settings on the main unit menu to a commercially available USB flash drive. Professional adjustments can be saved or backed up in advance to undo unintended adjustments by children or family members.
4K Native Resolution
Equipped with refined 0.69″ native 4K D-ILA device and newly developed digital driver LSI for native 4K resolution.
D-ILA projectors continue to evolve for the better. The latest three models feature an original native 0.69″ 4K D-ILA devices, which were first adopted on model DLA-Z1; this device has been improved with process refinements on planarisation and reflection efficiency to achieve higher contrast and brightness. Additionally, a dedicated driver LSI was also enhanced to simultaneously drive each of the three (R/G/B) native 4K D-ILA devices at high-speed 120fps. As a result, precise and smooth image projection unique to 4K native can be achieved with the combination of a new device and new driver LSI.
4K120p input ideal for Low Latency Mode
Because these projectors are equipped with 4K120p input, signal latency is infinitesimal, making it effective when displaying high frame-rate gaming content on large screens. What’s more, Low Latency Mode reduces delay in displaying PC signals and games, and improves response to the users’ rapid operations.
Essential all-glass lens to depict all the data in the 4K images
The DLA-NP5 is equipped with an 17-element, 15-group all-glass lens featuring a full aluminum lens barrel. To project high resolution 4K images to every corner of the screen.
Equipped with refined 0.69″ native 4K D-ILA device
High-resolution image projection is reliant on the device and the optical system, which is the heart of D-ILA projection. All models are equipped with 0.69-inch 4K D-ILA device that has been drastically refined, doubling the speed required to display images from 120 Hz to 240 Hz-equivalent.
Realising Images Full of Presence with D-ILA’s High Contrast
JVC’s original D-ILA device combined with an optical engine equipped with a wire grid results in a high native contrast ratio of 40,000:1. Input signals are analysed with an original algorithm that is combined with Intelligent Lens Aperture, which automatically controls the black level of the image to achieve a dynamic contrast ratio of 400,000:1. The synergetic effect based on the dynamic range stemming from high-brightness, delivers sensational 4K video full of reality.
HDR10+ Support allows a choice for two dynamic tone mappings
When it comes to reproducing the rich video information of HDR content including the extended brightness range, BT.2020 wide colour gamut and 10-bit gradation, rely on one of the new D-ILA projectors. New models support all HDR formats including HDR10 for Blu-ray and streaming, HLG for broadcasting, and the latest HDR10+ signal format with dynamic metadata compatibility.
JVC projectors are compatible with the two dynamic tone mappings of HDR10+ and Frame Adapt HDR. HDR10+ contains the metadata of the producer’s intentions for each scene, Frame Adapt HDR instantly analyses the peak brightness in HDR10 content using an original algorithm. Ensuring you can watch any HDR content in optimal picture quality.

FILMMAKER MODE™ that faithfully recreates the creator’s intentions
FILMMAKER MODE™ was developed by the UHD Alliance, an organisation of Hollywood movie studios, TV studios, content distributors, consumer electronics manufacturers, and device developers, with the aim of faithfully reproducing the filmmakers’ intentions in the home. When using this mode, picture quality adjustment functions such as frame interpolation and noise reduction are turned off, and the color temperature is set to D65 (6500K), allowing users to enjoy movies and documentaries with picture quality that is faithful to the original master.

Lens Shift function
Flexible installation is made possible thanks to the wide lens-shift function. As described in the diagram, wide shift ranges are offered vertically and horizontally to help deliver natural projected images without distortion.
